What was the explosive in the torpedo warhead?

The torpedo explosive is called Torpex. It was also used in the depth charges that were used against the Axis submarines. Torpex consists of TNT enhanced with RDX and aluminum. RDX is an oxidizer which helps the explosive burn more efficiently. The aluminum provides more surface area for the explosive, again to help it burn more efficiently.
